Look at this face. This is the face of the White woman who, in 1955, claimed that 14-year-old Emmett Till had wolf whistled her. That was a lie and she knew it. However, in White supremacist regime that ruled over Mississippi with no mercy, that was enough for adult White men to yank him out of his great-uncle's cabin and torture and maim him to the point where he got completely disfigured. This woman had nearly 68 years to think about her prominent role as an accessory to murder. I wonder whether she ever felt remorse. Did the life of a Black boy ever mattered to her?

Olhem bem pra este rosto. Este é o rosto da mulher branca que, em 1958, alegou que Emmett Till, um menino de 14 anos, tinha dado em cima dela. Ela sabia que era mentira. Porém, no regime de supremacia branca que imperava implacavelmente em Mississipi, aquilo foi suficiente para homens brancos invadirem o casebre do tio-avô do Emmett e torturá-lo e destroçá-lo até deixá-lo completamente desfigurado. Esta mulher teve quase 68 anos para pensar no seu papel protagonista de comparsa de um assassinato. Será que ela alguma vez sentiu remorso? Será que ela alguma vez deu importância à vida de um menino negro?
